(SAATM) Open skies agreements
While many open skies agreements have already been signed globally, there are still great benefits to be realised by future deals, especially in the continent of Africa.
Africa is an excellent example of how much potential there is still to unlock. For example, flights from South Africa to Botswana are eight times more expensive per mile traveled than between South Africa and the United States, despite Botswana being a neighbouring country. Similarly between Nigeria and Cameroon.
The new Single African Air Transport Market (SAATM) could help open the continent to air travel. Not just opening new routes within the continent but improving competition and attracting more travelers, domestically and from the rest of the world. EXPAVIA is seeking to be a key player in bringing this to fruition.
EXPAVIA's consultants are available to bring their international experience, contacts and know how to assist governments and government agencies in their processes leading to ratification of the SAATM ideal.
There are other open skies agreements under negotiation worldwide that may benefit African countries. These agreements all have the potential to open new regions for practical, affordable and convenient travel and will be key in determining opportunities for african aviation.
EXPAVIA's consultants are available to supplement in-house project groups working on open skies agreements.
